Solar Geysers

In the average home almost half of electricity consumption is attributed to heating water with your geyser. By installing a Home Comfort solar Geyser heating system and utilising the free energy from the sun, you can expect a reduction of 33% in your electricity bill.

Solar Geysers has been used commercially around the world for more than 50 years. In several countries it is mandatory to have a solar Geyser in every home

The Home Comfort solar Geyser comprises a hot water storage tank and solar heat collector panels. Through a thermo-siphon effect (in which hot water rises), hot water circulates between the collectors and the Geyser while there is sun and is stored at the end of the day in an insulated Geyser. All Home Comfort systems are equipped with an electrical heating element as a back up, controlled by a thermostat for those odd days when the sun’s energy is insufficient for water heating.

BENEFITS

  • Cost saving – the monthly savings from your solar geyser will pay the monthly instalment on a loan. Once paid for, your hot water is free!
  • An investment – installing a geyser adds to the value of your property and constantly saves you running costs.
  • Environmentally friendly – solar energy is clean energy. No pollution and no exploitation of limited natural resources
  • Consistency of supply – with a solar geyser you will have hot water even during blackouts and erratic power supply.
  • Aesthetically pleasing – discreet installation with only the panel on your roof. The geyser can be placed either in the roof, or on top of it.

Reducing your demand for electricity by one third can eliminate expensive upgrades of your supply infrastructure. In addition, maintenance of a Home Comfort solar geyser is minimal.

The system is designed to work uninterrupted for years. It carries a 10-year warranty on the collectors and geyser, but is expected to last for more than 20 years, and features the newest technology available, developed in conjunction with Daimler-Benz Aerospace.

To achieve the best results from a Home Comfort system, the following requirements apply:

  • A solid roof (pitched or flat), that is exposed to direct sunlight throughout the day.
  • The solar collectors should be placed facing north.

Recoup your investment
The savings you will achieve on your electricity bills by harnessing free solar energy from the sun means that you will recover the cost of your initial investment in a few short years.

You will be able to pay for the solar geyser from your savings on electricity in less than 4 years. After this you save the electricity every month!

Features
Home Comfort solar Geysers has the following features:

  • Hybrid system – a hybrid solar and electrical backup system for consistent supply of hot water even on the odd winter day when you need additional hot water.
  • Split system – the geyser and collectors may be split to allow for a discreet installation.
  • 10-year warranty – on the collectors and geyser.
